I am thinking about buyin a new motherboard with PCI Express...but can I take the CPU out of my current board and put it in the new one? If so, how?

    Yeah, assuming they're compatible socket-wise.

It's not that hard; just let it run a bit and the thermal paste should be wet enough for you to carefull remove the CPU.

id actually take it to a pro computer shop. like a little local place. they can do it for 15 bucks in a few minutes. if youre inexperienced, messing with all those little gold pins can be a pain, especially if one is out of place.

if you have a pent. 4 chip, just look for a p4 compatible motherboard withall of the other options.
