USB to Firewire converter

Do these exist? Im looking for a wire where i could plug one end to the camera and the other to the pc so i can transfer my vacation videos. I have a sony mini dv camera but it only came with a wire where the one end is usb and the other looks like a smaller firewire... I went to bestbuy and futureshop, the source, etc, and i cant find a wire where one side is firewire and the other is what looks like a smaller firewire.... so i dono how to get the vids onto the pc

are you sure that "smaller firewire" end doesn't go into your camcorder and the usb end goes into your computer?

edit: so you're saying you lost the original cable? just google your camcorder model and search for computer cables for it.

ya, the smaller cable goes into the camcorder... and no i didnt lose the original cable... the problem is this...

when i connect the smaller firewire to the came and then the usb to the pc, all i can transfer is pics and not my videos.. the guys told me i need the cable with a firewire and a smaller firewire to transfer the pics... for sum reason, it didnt come with the rite cable, but its like 5 yrs old now, but i dont use a camcorder enuff to buy a new one

regardless, search for your camcorder's cables. probably the best way to do it.
