If you just want something with less storage for some music, then it's overkill. I think the sound is incredible with some decent headphones. The video is OUTSTANDING. And I usually don't have to convert the files which I love. You can also even hook it up to a TV if you buy the cable for it. It even has an FM tuner and you can record the radio or voice if you like.
All that under $300 was too good of a deal for me to pass up.PSN: JISTIC_OS

Pretty often. I have several seasons of Southpark, the last season of Arrested Development, and Chappelle's Killing'em Softly on there so far. But I've yet to have my battery run low(only had it a couple of weeks).Comment

Re: iPod or PSP
Thanks for all the recommendations guys. Jistic, i'm definitely considering the device you are recommending.
One more question about an iPod. I have a media center pc and I like using that interface for storing/filing my mp3's. Can I just connect my iPod to a usb port on my pc and drag and drop mp3 files or do I have to go thru iTunes in order to add mp3's to the iPod?Comment

Re: iPod or PSP
iTunes for mp3's. That's the only thing I haven't enjoyed about my iPod experience. iTunes will convert your mp3s' into iPod format once you import the files."Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

Re: iPod or PSP
I like the zen look and everything but imo, the formats accepted on the zen mean nothing to me. converting files is so easy, that i'd need something else to be sold on.Comment

On the Zen you can do that. No converting or anything like that.PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: iPod or PSP
I co-sign the zen creative vision M.
I too did my research, and have not regretted the decision. It's great! I use the music and video functions about equally. For example, When walking to the laundrymat I'll listen to music, I'll switch and watch videos while my clothes wash, switch to music and throw them in the dryer, back to the show I was watching while they dry, back to music as i fold my clothes and walk back. Same thing for taking the train to school.
The voice recorder is a nice added bonus, since I have done many interviews for school on there (psychology). It's a nice bonus when doing transcriptions, I can click and drag the file back to my computer and listen to it on the speakers (made my old tape recorder basically useless).. I have also recorded random convos with friends that are funny to go back and listen to.
The FM radio gets very little play from me honestly. I'm not a radio guy at all, if I like a song I download it or buy the album.
The programable shortcut button is a great feature that all players should have.
The screen resolution is very nice (better than the I-pod, as mentioned), also, double the battery life for videos is a nice feature.
The fact that it is compatible with Windows Media Player is a plus. It also can sychronize w/ MS outlook, a function ive never used.
Some cons are that the screen scrathes VERY easily, the navigation system (touchpad) ia apparently not as nice as the ipods clickwheel, also it appears that even though both are 30 gigs, the ipod can hold more files because the itunes format is actually smaller than WMA's, Mps's, avi's etc.
Honestly, I think you will be happy with either the creative or the ipod. U'll have so much fun with either that u wont wonder if u made a mistake not getting the other.
The PSP is definately not as good, IMO. Mine sits on my shelf, while I never ever leave home w/o my creative.Comment
