Attention Comcast HD cable users.....

......so I wake up this morning after falling asleep to something on espn2. I roll over and see Iran playing Portugal. I notice the picture looks really good and then it hits me.....HI DEF!!!!

Then I check my messages and as of today, Comcast users have ESPN2 HD. It's channel 203 for me. Enjoy

Anyone know whether this is a temp thing like they did with that Universal HD channel for the Olympics, or whether this is a permanent addition? If it's permanent, this could be one of those rare times when I'm actually happy with Comcast....

Nor do I, but I don't have Comcast. Although the company I have competes with Comcast so whatever Comcast does, they do.

I still get Universal HD though. It came during the Olympics and has stuck around. They've got some very good older shows on that channel that they converted to HD (Knight Rider, Quantum Leap etc...).

Ditto...I had been bitching at Comcast once a week about not having it, then I woke up and was reading the paper when there was a small notice in the sports section about them adding the deuce in HD...With almost all of the early round matches on 2HD, it has been fantastic!

DFW is switching to time warner, we wont be getting it. now the funny thing is that they've been talking about this switch for the past 2 and a half years.

fyi, comcast is adding mtv-hd also

Yeah I noticed we got it when the WC started, they were a couple days late on the announcement. We also now have NESN in HD (New England Sports Network), before they had games in HD but on INHD2. Now if we could just get ESPNU.

MTV-HD is a lot of concert footage btw.

To answer an above question, Universal HD is currently considered a permanent addition since the Olympics have well passed. Since they've added ESPN2, MTV-HD, NESN, and Weather since then, it doesn't appear to be on the chopping block to clear up space.

I think we have all our local affiliates except UPN in HD right now as well, but with the formation of the CW I don't know which one we'll keep. It took forever to get ABC-HD in Western MA.

It is so funny I called comcast the day before the WC opener and asked when we were getting it. She said that she has no idea when it was coming on line for us. I go home and I turn of the first game of the WC and there it is! I got a good laugh out of that. It has been fun watching the games from Omaha in HD. Good job comcast!

I heard that INHD-2 is getting cut now that NESN is on. Not sure if they're adding anything else though.
