I'm really digging text-based sports games.
It started with Title Bout Championship Boxing. Played the demo and I though it was cool. Then my friend lent me Championship Manager 4 and I've been having a blast so far. I've always liked the Baseball Mogul series, but now I'm really enjoying these text based games. I really love the financial and franchise aspect of sports games like Madden and NBA 2k, but these text based games are really on a whole new level. The strategy is amazing and you really have to put some effort into what you're doing.Tags: None -

I will buy it eventually.
I cannot believe the depth that game has. The amount of Boxers is flat out rediculous.Comment

If you like basketball try Total Pro Basketball 2005 from Greydog Software.
If you like baseball try Out of the Park Baseball 2006 from OOTP Developments and Sports Interactive (creators of Championship Manager)
If you like football try Bowl Bound College Football from Greydog Software.
I'm sure you've heard of some of these just because you are playing Title Bout Boxing."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

If you aren't into the franchise, business and financial aspect of sports games, then, yeah it's not for you.Comment

I've been considering it recently, with the good reviews that some dudes here have given them... They just seem boring... I will probably break down one day, and give one a whirl...Comment

Highly advise you dl a demo before purchasing.
You definitely have to be someone that is mostly interested in stats and numbers. When we say these games are deep it's because of how much information you are given and how much control you have."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied.
