    Re: Worst Networks for DVR/Tivo

I have both a cabel hd-dvr and a regular tivo in my house. The dvr for the family room with and hd tv and tivo i had before goes in my bedroom with a normal tv.

The differences i've seen is that I can take recordings off of tivo and put it on my computer. I have full seasons of nip/tuck, lost, over there, Victoria Secret model show, a lot of good stuff on my big *** harddrive. So i don't have to take up space on my tivo and have to erase it. Also I got movies i don't ever want to spend money on and just burn it on a dvd and then erase it from my comp.

Reason we have a the dvr in the family room is that it records in HD, and thats important to me, especially during world cup times.

Well, we don't have HD, so thats not really a factor here. How many hours can your units store? I've seen some as much as 300 hours and others as little as 40 hours.

I know its about over a 100 hours. Which it really doesn't hold, it holds 100 hours on the crappy quality. i know everyone wants to watch it at the best quality, so it'll be half that in reality. The great thing is, that it still holds a lot and you delete what you don't want and if you really want to save it you can put it on your computer harddrive.

What I forgot to mention is that you can watch stuff on your tv from your harddrive too. So your Tivo harddrive can be as big as whatever space you have on your computer.

Nice. So, do you think the way to go would be picking up a unit with a lifetime subscription off of eBay?

On Dish Network it accounts for Rescue Me going long, Comca$t did not, so I always made it a point to record both episodes on Tuesday night to be safe. Ditto USA with Raw, I record Psych or whatever else comes after because of the run over.
