      i hate this stuff.

i remember buying tommy boy many years ago on dvd.. then i see it at walmart with behind the scenes footage and bloopers and deleted scenes. where is that %*^$ in the originial release?

It seems you gotta wait atleast 10 years before studios want to release blooper footage and do commentary for older films

Well you don't have to wait for commentaries and such, since the four disc EE's have all that and a lot more!

I saw this announcement last night and to my wife's chagrin, will likely buy them. I've had the three theatrical cuts, the three EE's, and now these (I've since sold the theatricals). I'm worried about the movies being crammed on one disc, and only being DD5.1 (the DTS ES tracks on the EE's is amazing). Also the bit rate will suffer due to the compression.

All that being said, if they offer even the remotest glimpse of more additional scenes on that documentary I'm there. I'm too big of a Tolkien and PJ geek to care about double dips (the EE's, being superior, don't really count...plus the release of them was known well in advance). I'm counting the days until the 'King Kong Extended Edition' is announced as well.

I hate Peter Jackson. He does SE after SE for these movies, but does nothing for "Dead Alive"?

Where's Kill Bill?!!! Sorry, I know that that's kind of off-topic, but because of stuff like this I've stopped buying DVDs for a while (although I have all the extended edition LOTR sets). But if the Kill Bill director's cut / SE set ever comes out, I'd get that.

Already spent too much money on these to buy this new set. I will rent to watch the documentary though.

Wow... I know that people hate all of these other franchises continuing with these sequels and such, but what about this one? I mean, the trilogy has FINISHED! Let's just stop making more money by releasing the same crap of 100+ hours of footage over and over.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)
