As many may have heard, Beavis and Butthead returns this fall. I was never a huge fan, but this sneak peek clip of them watching Jersey Shore honestly made me laugh out loud.

I had not watched that clip for a long time. It still makes me laugh, mostly because we can feel the tide turning with this guy as his gameplay experience carries on. After a terribly awkward sequence culminating in a Ron Artest layup, he seems to meet the game half-way, saying "Okay, player. . ." Then, of course, Jesus happened and it's a wrap. I always liked seeing him in the background of Garnett's free throw. And not to beat a dead horse, but it was interesting to me to remember such optimism coming from the EA camp, with their "developer videos" and inside looks to how great they thought the process was coming along. Just a bizarre situation through and through.

Yeah that's why it's so great for me. He's obviously pretty hyped to play it in the beginning then weird things start happening then the Jesus Bynum happens and hilarity ensues. I wish there was an Elite 11 (more competition is always a good thing for the consumer) but you can see why they canned it after vids like that being leeked.

On an unrelated note I saw this yesterday and thought it was pretty amazing:

That is insane, but what is the practical application?

I work in the hearing industry and we already use something similar to this to make custom fitting hearing aids. We take an impression of a person's ear and send it to the manufacturer who scans it with a laser and keeps the persons dimensions on a hard drive. The 3D printer then prints off the acrylic shells that are an exact replica of the impression that I send down.

As well as being very accurate it is also handy because if somebody lives in a remote location and loses or breaks a hearing aid I can simply ring the manufacturer and get them to 'print off' a new hearing aid. Pretty cool stuff.
