    It is in fact illegal to use any wireless connection without permission. Most likely nothing will happen, but if someone who knows what they are doing, opens there network just to catch people, you could face some penalties/fine or jail time.

      As I lay in bed I have access to 3 wireless connections. I am the only one who has a secured one.

            Interesting. I've seen the passcode field on my router, but never tried it.
