    The Devil Wears Prada

The trailer is a lot different that what you usually see.

Anne Hathaway has become a big star after starting her career on Fox's comedy Get Real in 1999 (too bad the show got cancelled so early because it was actually pretty funny).

This film is a mature comedy for adults ... well okay mostly female adults.... but you get my point.

The reviews thus far have been very positive. I'm not sure I want to fork over $11 to see this although I'm tempted to.

      I'll stick with "Havoc."

I'm not too big on straight to DVD films but I want to check this film out. I'm sure she decided to do this film because it's vastly different from the other roles she has played thus far.

Thankfully I have never done anything to my wife to cause her to hate me so much as to make me sit through this movie.

              Re: The Devil Wears Prada

Here's a shocker......... I watched The Devil Wears Prada.

The film was boosted by the performance of the 2 main characters, Hathaway and Streep. Emily Blunt was also good.

Streep was quick with criticism and parsimonious when it came to compliments towards her fellow staff members. She was ice cold but and I couldn't imagine another actress giving the same performance.

Hathaway was good as the wide eyed fresh out of college assistant.

The problem with the film is that the storyline isn't very original. Before even watching one second of the film you already know Hathaway's character will get sucked into the culture that she initially rejected and of course this strains her relationship with her boyfriend. And by the end of the film...... okay I won't ruin it for those of you that are actually going to watch the film but I'm pretty sure you knew what I was going to type.

For a movie about fashion, there was a paucity of cameo's involving famous people from the fashion industry.

                    Re: The Devil Wears Prada

                    This movie is pretty good...

The reviews are predominantly positive, but I'm sure they're in the 2 1/2 to 3 star range. The movie is light fare and totally inconsequential, but...

-- The plot and dialogue works
-- The humor is pretty good even though I never laughed out loud
-- I only rolled my eyes at one scene
-- Streep is my favorite actress.

It's true that most of the people here won't thoroughly enjoy it, but I don't think many people here would hate it.

When your lady friend wants to go see John Tucker Must Die, I suggest that you steer them towards this movie instead.

my girlfriend wanted to go to it, so I went along (but I work at a theater and it was free at least)... it wasn't too bad. I didn't feel punished for being "dragged" to it or something. Not saying I'd recommend it, but it's better than your average chick flick.
