    Final Cut Studio Pro

Hey Mac owners... has anyone ever used this software? How does it compare to photoshop... other digital editing softwares? Is it fairly simple to use? Since I purchased my MacBook Pro... I am going to pick up movie creation/editing again. It's something I've always enjoyed doing... so now that I have more time, I'm going to get back into it.

I've never used this software, so if anyone has any thoughts, let me know...

    Thanks,

    Will

    Re: Final Cut Studio Pro

I wouldn't compare it to Photoshop at all, because it's not designed for editing images per se (the closest thing Apple makes to Photoshop is Aperture). The best way I can describe it is to call it a professional version of iMovie. The fact that people are starting to use it instead of Avid says a lot. Unless you're going to be doing some SERIOUS digital editing, iMovie should be good enough for you.

Plus, Final Cut Pro comes with a rather hefty price tag ($1299 if you get the entire studio package). iMovie comes with your computer for free.

Oh, another option to consider if you've "outgrown" iMovie is Final Cut Express. I don't have much experience, but I think it's a more consumer-level program ($299).
