Both are true stories, as well as Friday Night Lights. All 3 were glorified for Hollywood to change the outcome. I enjoyed all 3 with that being said.

The game against Dallas-Carter wasn't the State Championship, it was the semi-finals and Dallas-Carter won 14-9 instead of a high scoring game, final play game like the movie.

Boobie Miles was hurt in the preseason, not first game of the year. Miles was also a full-back, and Billingsly was the half-back.

And Billingsly's dad never won a state championship, therefore never gave him a ring at the end of the Odessa/Dallas-Carter game.

Those are the main differences that come off the top of my head, there are others, but I've read the book before, been a few years though.

T.C. Williams didn't have to run any trick plays to win the state championship or come from behind. They blew out everyone they played in the playoffs.
