    The Da Vinci Code (Book)

I know many have probably already read it or seen the move. I'd heard about it all along but never read it, even though I intended to. I bought it from Wal-Mart on Father's Day for 5 bucks and it's really hard to put down. I seem to only read at work during breaks and when I'm taking a break from NFL Head Coach but it's a REALLY good book. I'm about half-way through it and I think, since I don't have school this week, I may finish it up in the evening after work. I'm definitely going to buy the hard back once I'm done reading it. Then, when it's out on DVD, I'll compare that to the book!

    Great read!!!!

Very, very good read. Also, it has been said here and many other place, but if you like "The Da Vinci Code" make sure you read "Angels and Demons". "Angel and Demons" takes place before the "The Da Vinci Code", but it is another Robert Langdon book and is excellent. I thought it was better "The Da Vinci Code".

      Yes, very good read.

I was impressed with it from beginning to end. I don't think it lagged one bit. I know there are many people that think it's a piece of garbage, but forget them.

It definitely isn't the most intelligent read in terms of dialogue and character development, but it grabs your attention. Reading, to me, should be about keeping me interested. The book did so it was worth every minute.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

i love both "The Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons" they are really fast paced books that you really can't put down until you are down.

If you guys like those two then you should really read Brown's other novels. Deception Point and Digital Fortress I could not put down just like Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons. I found Deception Point to be my favorite Dan Brown book actually.

Dan Brown is a very good writer. All of his books pretty much hold your interest. He blends fact and fiction very well.

I loved the books but really he's not that great of a writer, he just told a great story.

Agreed. Angels & Demons and Da Vinci Code felt too similiar for my liking, although both were great reads.

I have heard so many good things about the book that I almost feel that I have to go buy it. Going to be getting books for the first time for my birthday, The Da Vinci Code (hardback, about $18 at barnes & nobles) and a nice vietnam book, only $20 and has lots of info. (of course I can't remember the name of it)
