I agree with this entirely. That twist was really cool, Ms. Palmer is annoying and I would have loved to see Donald as Jack's dad. I thought they gave away too much in the previews. I'm going to just have to stop watching them (half of me wants to watch, the other half wants no spoilers).
Sherri Palmer was much better than the sister because Sherri was evil and a great character to hate that was also involved in the plot. Wayne's sister brings nothing to the plot and I'm not a Regina King fan.
As for the whole blue-tooth twist, Jack's brother Greg is a different type of evil character. He was in bed with Logan last year and they both felt they were doing the right thing. It seems their goal has always been to create a 9/11 type of intrusion into the lives of Americans that gives the government enough leverage to invade the Middle East and other areas. I think that was the entire goal last year although they never intended for the bomb to stay in LA. Greg probably sees 5 suitcase bombs as collateral damage and necessary to start WW III in the Middle East.
