I have just got done watching season 4 of 24 (I have watched the last 4 seasons on DVD in the last couple months) and have become addicted to the show. Basically I have season 5 preordered for december, when it hits stores.

So from now I am looking for a dramatic TV drama to hook me like 24 did. I am preferably looking for something that is an ongoing story (not just a single problem that is solved in a single episode).

I tried reading up on a few shows on Amazon.com but it was filled with spoilers and I didn't want to read too close.

My list right now consists of Lost,Band of Brothers, The Sopranos,The Wire(really interested in this one),nip/tuck,Rescue Me,Deadwoods, and The Shield.

If anybody has any comments on any of these shows I would be very interested or any others, obviously.

The Wire is a great show, just got into a month or so ago and went through the first two seasons in about two weeks. The third season comes out in the first or second week of August I think. Not a ton of action but there are a lot of likeable characters and great storylines. Definetley fits in with your ongoing story request. My only gripe is the seasons are kind of short so far, only 11 or 12 episodes I think for both seasons but maybe that's a good thing, I could see how it might get boring if the season was 20+ episodes.

Nip/Tuck. The 4400. 24. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Rescue Me. Saved. Grey's Anatomy. Reno 911! Dog Bites Man. What About Brian. Psych.

It doesn't necessarily fit your On-Going story rule, but I really love HOUSE. Great show!!

24, House, Lost (if you have patience), Prison Break, How I met your mother is a great comedy and I guess in a way it is a series. That's a good start. (oh yeah, band of brothers on DVD - about $60 at walmart)

I just started watching Rescue Me this season, it's the first TV show I've followed since That 70's Show in '98.

Pretty good stuff, the sex scenes are hilarious. The show is definitely a lil too over the top though, a tad too unrealistic - but entertaining nonetheless.

Firefly.

The show was cancelled, stupidly, by Fox. It will leave you wanting more - much more. The Serenity movie is a good follow-up, but watch the series first and it makes the movie that much better.

Yep i just got addicted to it myself.


As for your list.....

The Wire. Its easily best police drama I've ever seen. It makes The Shield look like 21 Jump Street.

Band of Brothers is freaking awesome. I've been through it so many times I know most of the episodes word for word.

Lost is a very fun show.

Deadwood is great. Really well written with awesome characters.

The Shield is pretty decent too just nowhere near as good as the Wire.

The Sopranos I'm not a big fan of. Too many annoying Italians and Jersey accents.

Havent seen Rescue Me or Nip Tuck.

MTV, yes MTV, has 2 good series' out. Real World and then Real World/Road Rules Challenge. I watch both and its great because when Real World is wrapping up, RW/RR challenge is starting and vice versa.


Plus, MTV is going to be airing a new show in August(i think it starts the 23rd) on Hoover High School football. They followed the HHS team around last season and are about to air the weekly documentary. I know I'll be watching to see my former high school beat them 39-28

King of Queens is pretty darn funny

ive been hearing good things about '2 and a half men', but I havent watched it.

I started watching it last summer and was hooked after 1 or 2 episodes. I bought all 4 season DVDs and can't wait for 5. Well written, well acted. And very addictive.
