Its still gonna be made for a younger crowd so its not gonna be THAT much like the original comics. Which is fine with me. People overrated the comics severely. Just like they do with The Tick comics(which really sucked).

I haven't rewatched these movies since I was a kid, I wonder how'd the first one would strike me now? I remember seeing the second one in the theaters and thinking it was crap, and I never saw the third. I still remember the first one fondly though (maybe I shouldn't watch it again )

I think the first one still holds up pretty well for a 16 or 17 year old childrens movie. The other two? Not so much.

By the way, for those of you who have never read the very first issue, it can be found here.

Also, the new movie is supposed to be rated PG.

PG? Dang.. I was also hoping they'd be different and go the more adult route.

Well, it'll be PG because of the lack of swearing (I'm sure somebody will lay a "hell" and a "damn" in there somewhere), and because it's just animated violence. As long as it's not a gorefest, it should be rated PG.

Remember that National Treasure was rated PG, and it... you know... had what it had.

I strongly disagree. The second and third movies were very corny and stupid but the first film is gold. It's got enough humor and action to make it accessible and the costumes are still pretty impressive today. April O'Neil was butt ugly though, but at least she was a better actress than the one who appeared in the sequels.

That trailer impressed me. I wasn't really expecting much out of this product when it was announced (especially considering the CGi trailer they made several years ago as a pitch) but the animation looked great in that trailer. It wouldn't upset me one bit if they used the voice actors from the current cartoon series for this film as they do a nice job.

I remember going to see TMNT II with my cousin at the time and we laughed our butts off when Vanilla Ice showed up and not in a "ha ha that's funny" way, more like in a "ha ha that's so stupid" way.

Ah well, I kinda thought the chick that played April was kinda cute.

The April from TMNT2 and 3 was pretty cute, but not the first one...

                            The second April:

I used to be an avid comic book colector when I was young. I still have the original comics 1 through who knows how many.

The originals were all in black and white. They later (and I think way later) became colored.
