    World Trade Center

I just saw the previews to this for the 1st time. I believe it comes out August 9th if my memory serves me correctly. Anyone else think this looks like a decent movie?
There is no place like Nebraska
    Dear old Nebraska U.
Where the girls are the fairest,
    The boys are the squarest,
Of any old school that I knew.
There is no place like Nebraska,
    Where they're all true blue.
    We'll all stick together,
    In all kinds of weather,
    For Dear old Nebraska U!

Won't change this signature until Nebraska wins the National Championship...posted 8/16/05

I think it'll be decent, from what little i've seen it has a kinda documentary feel to it which should re-open just healed wounds for a lot of people.

Personally I think a movie on this subject should have at least a 50 year moratorium on it.

I don't think you can make a movie about a disaster like 9/11 and have it be good or treat the event with much respect. Pearl Harbor and Titanic were awful love stories with a backdrop of the events they were supposed to be about. These poorly written, big budget Hollywood films on these subjects just seem stupid to me. At least war movies can be done well.

I agree that Pearl Harbor was CRAP! but i've seen a couple Titanic movies from the '50s which are pretty good. One of which had a very sad and sobering ending that I won't spoil for you. I'm not sure which one it was tho. I'll look up the title.....

ahh.. TITANIC (1953) check it out if you can. I found it at my local library and it should be available on netflix.

I personally won't see it because when I see the spots about it on TV it still makes me depressed.

its definetly gonna be sad. i think its about that one guy and him family. so basically from his and his families POV. We've all seen the eye witness accounts on TV. This will dig alittle bit deeper than that. It'll reopen all those feelings, whether its healthy or not, i dont know. Alot of people didnt get hear about his story, me included, but in some ways its predictable and I wont support hollywood doing it so soon.

it definetly wont be politic imo. thatll turn off many people. but itll be your typical feel thankful that your living and live as if everyday is your last. Family thinks he's dead for hours. they find him. etc......Again, a great story but its just not for me right now. A great message but this connects with everyone so itll be elevated alittle

So that anyone 40ish would die before a movie on the subject was even made? I feel sorry for people but it's simple - if it is too touchy, don't see it. But to put a limit on it is dumb because some will always think it is too touchy or whatever. IMO.

If it were a documentary style film, I agree that the making of the movie should wait since more of the facts would be known and the resulting impact on the world could be analyzed, etc. However, this doesn't look at all like a documentary style film. I wouldn't be surprised if terrorists weren't mentioned at all in the film. If you wait 50 years for a mainstream movie, they'll make it like Pearl Harbor so it will make money.

The previews for this movie do make it look kind of corny, though.

I would be okay with this if it were some type of benefit movie..... but we ARE talking about Hollywood........so I doubt it.

But "touchy"? Hmmm, let's see...... we had some whacko religious zealots conspire to purposely disrupt our free world and bring agony to countless lives....and we're not supposed to be touchy?

                          It's just too soon.

Isn't some of the profits going to WTC families? I thought I heard that somewhere.

                            Oh well.
