How do I update my multimedia audio controller

I Just updated my computer with a new version of windows xp and everything was fine until I noticed my computer doesn't play any sound out of the speakers and when i play a dvd it doesn't play. My multimedia audio controller has a ? & ! displayed in the device manager. I need to update but I don't know how. I was told about aida 32, which is a program that looks up all the information on my on computer so I know where to update my stuff. The place where I got the aida file is not working. Does anyone know what I have to do to get sound back running on my computer? any help would be much apperciated on how to get this fix and how to do it.

What kind of computer do you have? If you know the model number (Such as Dell Inspiron 6000) you can google it for Drivers..

    ie Dell Inspiron 6000 Drivers

it should give you a list of drivers that you would need for your PC. If you still cant, you can probably use a generic driver, but sometimes dont work.

If you have all the CDs that came with your computer when you first bought it, there should be a bunch of driver CDs that came along with it. Pop that sucka in there, then update the driver (make sure to point it towards the CD)

Let me know if you need mroe help
