Re: Windows Vista Voice Recognition Fails...
That's good. Hasn't there been technology like this for a while now? I laughed harder when the anchor puts the big air quotes around "recognition" than I did at anything else.Texas Tech, Red Sox, FC Dallas and Reading supporter -
Re: Windows Vista Voice Recognition Fails...
People have been using this type of technology for ages. So 1. How is this a "new" feature and 2. How can they mess it up that bad!
And then they try to excuse it by saying there was to much noise around.
1. there wasn't.
2. this is meant for business, right? when was the last time you were in a quiet office?
3. Get a noise canceling microphone, duh!!!Comment

...and yes this tech has been around in some form for at least 10 years. I know this because I was in a school for the blind for a half semester during my HS days and there were computers that worked via voice recognition as well as reading out the text for students.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Windows Vista Voice Recognition Fails...
I used to work with a Ukranian guy who, one day, had the bright idea to install one of those "Dragon Naturally Speaking" programs on his computer. He spent a little while configuring the application, speaking into the mic in an attempt to get the program to account for his thick Russian accent before he started to use it. Watching him become frustrated at the program as it spit all kinds of random crap onto the screen, unable to understand what the hell he was saying, was hilarious....Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.
Dash: [muttering] Which is another way of saying no one is.Comment

Anywho i'm visually impaired. I guess my language was too strong when I said "for the blind" but it is for people with visual impairment. I'm legally "blind" but I can see and hear pretty well. I can't drive tho
Anywho I can read your question quite well. One of the main reasons I went to that school for the half semester was because my grades were slipping and my resource teacher and parents thought a change of scenery was needed.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
