Great period piece comedy/drama: Diner
Lots of stars at the early points of their career..... and the banter back and forth is awesome.
BTW, Caddyshack really isn't a sports movie..... it's just a comedy with a sports background to it. It was more of a platform for some great comedians at that time whereby they slapped together a bunch of funny scenes.Comment

Seriously though, I typically watch most "highly recommended" films, though I've yet to see:
Brokeback Mountain
Psycho (the original Hitchcock)
Ben Hur (seen parts of it)

Gettysburg(Best Civil War movie IMO.)
Shinler's List(I get misty eyed everytime I watch it. Such a powerful movie.)

A movie that I always get flack for not watching ......The Good, The Bad and The Ugly...(It's on my netflix cue now)....
I hope this thread influences people to finally see great films. You have to watch Godfather 1,2 and Goodfellas.
And please if you haven't seen Office Space, stop playing games, get off the internet and go BUY IT. If anything this is a must in everyones DVD collection.
This is a tough thread for me since I pretty much seen every movie that I've always wanted to see.Comment

I saw half of The Godfather. Boring as ****. I have no desire to see the others.
Office Space is easily on of my favorite comedies.
Other movies I havent seen....I'll just stick to the ones mentioned already......

The Godfather. And Godfather II, for that matter. I hereby disavow the existence of Godfather III, which sucked. One of the best days of my life was when I was in high school and sat down to spend an entire day watching I and II back-to-back. From a screenwriting and acting perspective, these movies are freaking clinics. Highly engrossing story, infinitely quotable dialogue, fantastic ensemble cast....just tremendous. They are, truly, the sum of all wisdom.
