I've had it for 2 weeks now. Well, for Outkast fans like myself, if you got excited about Dre and Big Boi going back to the studio together, you had high expectations for Idlewild. Sadly, you're going to disappointed. You can tell, they still weren't in the lab together. They have some nice songs on the album but it's a MOVIE SOUNDTRACK. I have to see the movie this weekend to see how it relates to the album. I'm disappointed in Idlewild. It's basically Speakerboxx/Love Below, except both LP's are on the same disc. Let me reiterate, there are a lot of good songs on the album but it's a movie soundtrack and it's not hard to tell. I see nothing wrong with the more mature, introspective, Dre and Big Boy, but I just think they can do better if they want to go that route. Looking forward to the next album.

To me, their best album was Southernplayalisticcadillacmusic, followed by Atliens, with each album they release being worse than the last. Speakerboxxx / Love Below was one of the worst albums I've ever heard. I'm not surprised that they've become more and more popular, however.

Yep, SouthernPlayalistic followed by Atliens are their best imo. I did like Speakerboxxx/Love Below though, it had to grow on me though.

Just listened to Idlewild, and this sums up my feelings exactly. Good album, but they can do better.

I thought everybody knew this album was another "seperate but together" album? I mean, at the beginning of the Morris Brown video Big Boi says "Andre is still in the studio working on his half" or something along those lines. I'd just like them to cut ties already and go solo.

I am listening now and nothing after "Hollywood Divorce" has caught my attention yet. PJ & Rooster isn't bad, but the rest are easily forgettable.

I like "Chronomentrophobia"... album is pretty much what I expected. I figured they would both spit on a few tracks, then split up and do their own thing for the rest of the album.

Like SoMiss said, you can tell this is a Soundtrack CD. My personal favorite CD of theirs is Aquemini followed by ATLiens. Still, I do like all of their CDs, which is shared only by Tool.

I guess everybody has different opinions on what they're favorite Kast album is. I've been a fan of Outkast since day 1 and am probaly as hardcore as far as the south goes as they come and I think Outkast's best work by far was Aquemini. There wasn't a weak track on that whole entire album and it is probaly one of the most creative hip hop albums ever.

Pretty much the same here, although "Call the Law" definitely caught my attention. If they had cut this down to 10-15 tracks, it would have been a much better album. The album pretty much feels like left-overs from Speakerboxx/The Love Below compiled on one CD.

Early favorites include: Idlewild Blues, Mighty O, The Train, and Call the Law.

Yeah, I love the song that goes something like, "grab my gun, and let's go out!"

I do like the album for what it is, but i'm still disappointed overall.

There wasn't a weak track on Southernplaylistic. Probably "Deep" but lyrically, Dre and Big Boi ripped it. That album is a classic, Aquemini is not. It's one of my least favorites. It's all a matter of opinion. To this day, I can listen to SouthernPlayalistic and it's over 12 years old.
