    Millencolin

ok last night i was looking through some of my old CD's when i came across a couple of old Millencolin CD's. they are a skate/punk/alt band from sweeden. i forgot how much i really liked these guys.

i first heard them on the Tony Hawk 2 soundtrack. i really liked their song on the soundtrack so i got 2 of their CD's. "Pennybridge Pioneers" and "For Monkeys". the albums were awsome but over these past couple of years my taste in music has changed from rock to underground rap (little brother, murs, kweli, etc.). so just for fun i listened to the albums and remembered just how good the cds were

anyways i was wondering if there are any fans of Millencolin on OS. i hadnt heard much about them so i was wondering what they were up to now

"No Cigar" is a great, great track.

Beyond that...they never did much to impress me.

Damn, there's my retro mid-90's high school punk flashback! I used to love Millencolin, and a few guys at my high school back in Aurora, CO discovered them and a bunch of punk back then (Strung Out, Unwritten Law, Good Riddance, Propaghandi, Lagwagon, and Blink-182 before "Enema of the State" and Travis Barker) and ended up forcing the local CD shop to carry punk. It was sweet!

Their best album, in my opinion, was "Life on a Plate", followed by "For Monkeys".

Agree, I haven't played that song for a single person that didn't really enjoy it, great song.

          Millencolin was awesome.

So was Ten Foot Pole, Down by Law, Pennywise, Lagwagon, Rancid, Operation Ivy, No Use for a Name, NOFX (before their downfall).

If you like Swedish punk, look to No Fun At All. Those guys are absolutely amazing, and are second on my all-time list. My favorite punk band of all time, though, will be Bad Religion.

I'm like you. All I listen to now is underground rap, but in high school, all I used to listen to was punk/ska stuff. I have countless cds that most people have never heard of. Favorite bands included:

Millencolin, Mad Caddies, Homegrown, Unwritten Law, Less than Jake, so many more. I saw Mad Caddies live twice, saw Less than Jake live on Halloween, also saw: Homegrown, Spring Heeled Jack, Reel Big Fish, Blue Meanies, Assorted Jellybeans, Suicide Machines, Uwritten Law, MU330...there's others that I just can't think of.

Millencolin was definitely my favorite. I have all their CDs up to and including Pennybridge Pioneers, but soon after that I lost most of my interest in the punk/ska genre and have since shifted to rap/hip hop.
