OT -Need advice: XM or Sirius?
<hr style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" size="1"> <!-- / icon and title --> <!-- message --> Alright I'm done with reg radio. I live in so. Calif. and every other channel out here is going Spanish and I can't stand all the commercials every two minutes.

I'm going to get either XM or Sirius. I've done lots of research and they are so close together that I'd like to hear form guys who have one or the other and why you chose it.

My main interests are the music of course but also Notre Dame football (although I'd be infront of my tv for the games) and good reception and easy install by myself.

Any advice you have would be great. Reciever type you chose, antenna location on your car, etc.

    thanks!

Re: OT -Need advice: XM or Sirius?

    I have had both.

I have a sirus reciever that i can use in my house and my car.

in my accord that i owned for a year, i had free XM.

I personally liked the actual music played on Siruis better. More rock stations.

XM seemed to have a lot of rap and more unsigned bands.

Both compaines can have some what repetitive play lists, BUT that's still how radio is no matter if it's free or paid for.

    Quick and easy answer is.
If you like Rock music and the NFL - sirus
if you like rap music and baseball - XM

I don't know much about XM since I've got Sirius but I love it. There's ton of sports/news talk, music, NFL, NBA, college sports, NASCAR soon and some others... and it also has Howard Stern if your into that. Both of them should be easy to install and setup.

Re: OT -Need advice: XM or Sirius?

Count me as another one for Sirius simply due to the Premiership and the NFL being on there, as well as Stern and Ferrall (sports talk guy on Howard 101) I bought the Sirius one unit and a home kit and got em both for under a 100 bucks. There are much better radios than the one I bought, but it does fine for me. Sign up for a free online trial for both at their sites, listen to em, and make your own decision.

          The boys are the squarest,
Of any old school that I knew.
There is no place like Nebraska,
          Where they're all true blue.
          We'll all stick together,

          For Dear old Nebraska U!

I have both... like to listen to baseball on XM ( & of course the O & A show), & the music on Sirius...

right now the only thing between the two is that Sirius has not developed a "true" portable unit, & that XM has several on the market (ones now that can also be MP3 players)...

the best Ferrall show ever was when the "pests" attacked him live on air... talk about someone who wanted to run & hide...
