Or was it Merv Griffin? It was his 81st birthday.

I remember his show being on TV, too, when I was a kid. I don't remember all that much about it, but I do remember my mother having it on while doing housework. I hadn't heard much about him in the past few years, which led me to believe that he had already passed away.

My mom watched his show everyday. We had one TV back then. If it was raining and we weren't beating each other up, my 4 brothers and I would watch him with her. He was cool. He had many black guests on his show. That was not common in those days. RIP and God bless.

Mike Douglas was part of Television's golden age back in the 70's. I remember watching his shows when I was a kid. I also remember watching the show where Tiger and his dad made an appearance on Mikes show. Even at an early age you could tell Tiger was going to be a stud once he turned Pro.

They had a clip of that segment with Tiger on SportsCenter last night, which I thought was strange. But they offered a very nice tribute to him.

Don't know too much about him as I wasn't around to watch his show. I have seen him numerous times on Larry King Live talking about other entertainers when they've passed on. He seemed like a real swell guy.

LOL, for the record Mike was born within 5 weeks of Merv Griffin, the other talk show guy he is often mistaken for.

I used to think my father was Mike Douglas. . . I remember watching Merv's show and that it was on very late at night, at least for me it was back then.

The most vivid memory of either show was when one of them had David Jansen(The Fugitive) on. I still couldn't tell you if it was Merv or Mike, but I do remember it being on in the afternoon.
