Arent these guys like cops? at the beginning of the article, they said he had gotten into a scuffle and was bloody and bruised.. you mess with law enforcement like that and i dont care if youre running or not, youre getting shot.. where are the border patrols rights to defend oneself??

"You need to tell a supervisor because you can't assume that a supervisor knows about it," Kanof countered. "You have to report any discharge of a firearm."

Mary Stillinger, Ramos' attorney, and Maria Ramirez, Compean's attorney, said during the trial that every other Border Patrol agent at the scene also failed to report shots had been fired.

"Every single witness has a reason to lie," Ramirez said, referring to the immunity granted to Aldrete-Davila and the other agents in exchange for testifying against Ramos and Compean.

During the trial, the connection between Rene Sanchez and Aldrete-Davila confused the Ramos family, and "we questioned how an agent from Arizona would know or want to defend a drug smuggler from Mexico," said Monica Ramos.


Teaching someone a lesson it seems. very corrupt world we live in. those guys get immunity, which are so often just lies to protect oneself.. This kind of reminds me of the hurricane movie with denzel washington.

I mean damn, they have a bounty on those guys. giving immunity to guys who obviously messed up themselves. i guess they needed a case for court and the politicians to get rialed up about

This has nothing to do with the story but I have to say Glenn Beck is my kinda conservative. If there were more conservatives out there like him I wouldn't be so anti-conservative.

I enjoy watching his show on HLN. I haven't gotten around to listening to his radio show which i've been meaning to do for a while now tho.

I love listening to Glenn Beck. We only get the two last hours on our local Talk Radio, but I listen every morning at work.

I enjoy Michael Savage a lot as well.

I haven't watched him much though I am starting to listen to the radio more. Wish there were more moderate people on TV and especially radio. (shepard smith and tucker are really the only news shows I watch unless there is a real good guest on)

This is unbelievable! The dude has 800 lbs of dope in his van, points a shiny object at the agents and they're not allowed to pursue him or fire back?
Who's word are you going to believe? A drug runner or a Border Patrol agent.
I hope these guys get an appeal and win. It makes me sick to think these men will rot the next 20 years while that drug runner will probably spend that time making money running more drugs.
And we wonder why things like 9/11 are able to happen. The criminals have more rights than anyone else.
This makes me sick!

EDIT: And I find it extremely odd that the DA went to such lengths to locate this man in Mexico so they could go after these two border patrol agents so aggressivly.
You would think that normally, after finding 800 lbs of dope, they would let the guy rot in Mexico. Instead they give him a parade back into the US, fix him up on Johnny Taxpayers tab, and then let him lie to convict two good men. Sickening!

I enjoy Michael Savage a lot as well.

I love the savage nation, listen every night during my commute, and the reason is the guy is a straight shooter who will attack both parties.

I never felt that way listening to him. I really enjoy his show, his style and his comedy is right up my alley. Plus, how can you not love Moron Trivia?


As far as Michael Savage goes, I really enjoy him too, but he comes on at 5 here and that's on my way home from work, so I really don't get to listen to him that long.

Anyone know a site that replays the show from the day before? I would love to be able to go back and listen during the day.

That's just way off base. You may not agree with his stance on certain issues or the way he portrays himself on the radio or TV, but at least he tries to bring out stories that the main stream (talk about'cher wackjobs) purposely stay away from because they are not in line with their agenda. I like when he especially brings in these stories of complete injustice and exposes the true villians.
