    Dell Inspiron Notebook Monitor Problem

I figured I'd give this question a shot here, even though it isn't a technical support website...

I've had my Dell Inspiron notebook (17" screen) for a little over a year now. A few months ago, probably starting around April or May, my monitor would start acting up. The right side of the monitor, about 1/4 of the screen, would begin flickering after 15-20 minutes of use. It would then continue flickering until that 25% of the screen turned completely green, leaving me with partial view of my screen. I also noticed my computer would heat up a lot, and didn't really hear the fans working.

Now, 3 or 4 months later, the flickering and "green-out" happens much quicker... and theres 4 vertical lines running down the monitor.

Is this a problem with my monitor, my video card or my computer fans? Should I try taking this into a store for repair or should I just give up on this computer?

Probably the monitor itself. You should figure out if things like that fall under your warranty. If they don't, you might as well buy a new computer because fixing a monitor isnt worth the cash.
