    Survivorman on Discovery Channel

Anyone else love this show? I'm a big fan of camping/hiking, so this show makes me feel prepared for the worst. I've only seen 4-5 shows, but its so addicting cause it teaches you so much. Anyone else a fan?

    I don't like camping.

The last time I went camping it was so cold and damp that I peed myself in the tent as I was stumbling to get to the port-a-potty.

I haven't camped out since that incident. It was VERY hard to cover everything up but I managed.

Honestly, camping isn't for everybody. But normally when I hike, my buddy and I fish along the way, which takes our mind off things such as bugs, weather, etc.

But the point of camping/hiking is to be adventurous and to love the outdoors. When its cold outside, you have to adjust to the climate.. Wear heavier clothing and be active. When we were in the Great Smokey Mountains, it was like 60 degrees before we started our 5 mile hike. In the first mile, I was layered in about 5 different layers of clothes. By mile 2 and 3, I was down to my undershirt sweating my balls off.

As for using the bathroom late at night, try going in the middle of the night knowing that there are bears and other wild animals that could do bodily harm if they get close to you.... I had to take a deuce.. and had to hold it till early in the morning.. Boy was that a restfull night.

I don't like camping either, but that IS a great show. When he woke up and found Polar Bear tracks about ten feet from where he was sleeping was crazy.

HAHAH Havent seen that one, but I'm dying to get the DVD. There was an episode where he was in the Canadien wilderness.. Around Moose... THAT WAS MATING!! Apprently they're one of the craziest animals to be around when they're mating and should not be messed with. Well he was searching for firewood, when he heard something big break some branches not too far off. He didn't move or breathe, and soon and behold a huge moose with his antlers as big as Les (survivorman) litterally feets away from. CRAZY.

Yes apparently he was 10 feet away from man eating alligators. And within the year there were 7 deaths from 11 alligators.. CRAZY! He also mentioned how some kid had an amoeba get inside him, and within 5 days teh kid was dead.

THen later on in the show, you see him go HOLY ****! and then you see him smack the ground a few times and say "Got a rattlesnake"

Imagine if he had gotten bit, DOA.

they're on the Science channel (I think) on cable here too...Discovery cuts some episodes from an hour to half an hour...i've seen them all and it's a great show, really cool to see everything he does. He's crazy though, some of the stuff he does to get a cool camera shot, especially walking really far away, then having to come back for the camera

I can't believe this guy isn't dead yet.

I enjoy the show though, I wouldn't do it. My girlfriend is obsessed with watching it so I'm pretty much on the hook to end up watching almost all of them.
