    Little league world series

Anyone watching this, i used to watch it..but this year i am trying to see every game.

I just saw how Asia won 11-0 and the pitcher threw a no hitter..i wish i couldve seen that.

I am really enjoying this stuff, just curious if anyone else is. I was a pretty good baseball player, and i never hit a homerun, its nuts to see these kids hit 3 homeruns in one game.

I will respond tho... the no-hitters never wow me... some of these kids are too big to play on this size field... these fields should be for 9-10 year olds... 11-12 year olds should be playing on a field that would be right smack in the middle of a little league and major league field...

    Pitchers mound... 53 feet
    Bases ... 75 feet apart
    Fences ... 250-280 feet

11-12 year olds are old enough to play with real rules too, mostly taking leads and stealing bases. (with the longer bases, of course)

Aluminum bats need to be eliminated from little league and college. The ball just jumps off an aluminum bat, even I effortlessly can hit homeruns with an aluminum bat taking BP at a high school field and I don't even weigh 150 or possess any semblance of a great swing.

very true... but in LL World Series... there is pure pitching domination... the competitive balance b/w pitching and hitting is way too unbalanced.

It wouldn't matter if that kid who just hit the homer was using aluminum or wood. That was a bomb.

I don't quite see it as such. Unfortunately, there are always going to be these kids who are growing up faster than their peers which will give them an absurd fastball, but the field is so small and defense so poor that its not terrible difficult to beat out a groundball to short. I would be in favor of moving the mound back. Just playing wiffleball on a little league field in my neighborhood, you feel like the pitcher is right on top of you. Imagine facing that lefty from Georgia who can hit 80 from 44 feet? Thats equivalent to a pitch over 100mph from 60 feet which is just crazy. Eric Karros noted how little leaguers today are better than little leaguers of yesterday and I agree and the game should change to reflect that but increasing field dimensions including moving the mound back.

Some kid ( I dont even remember the team he is playing for ) just hit his 7th home run out of his last 12 at bats and they said he had 53 homers this season..WTF?

the fields are much bigger this year. They moved the fences back and the games are much better. The Kid on the Ga. team has a .778 BA with 52 Hr's in 36 games. Yesterday they were trying to intentionally walk him and he reached out real far and got a hit.

The mound and bases need to be farther then.... and yes... those numbers are insane... but more reason not to applaud... This kid may only be twelve, but if he wants to get better, he should be up on the big fields playing against kids who are older than him so he can have some kind of challenge...

Hitting .778 and 1 1/2 homers a game isn't even baseball... this kid isn't learning anything.
