    Question about wireless networks

We have wireless internet setup in my new house, and my computer, and another one of my roomates can connect perfectly and everything works.

    Here is the problem:

    1. My other roomate, can connect, but then his computer doesn't access the internet. So, he sees the network, connects to it, but then when he is trying to do something online, it doesn't work. What is the problem?

    2. My girlfriend brings here computer over, and her computer doesn't even see any of the possible networks.

    Whats the problems?

    Re: Question about wireless networks

Ok, so I looked at her computer and it says:

"Windows cannot configure the wireless connection.
If you have enabled another program to manage this wireless connection, use that sofrware.
Of uou want Windows to configure this wireless connection, start the Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) service. For information about starting the WZC service, see article 87112 in the Microsoft knoledge base on microsoft.com Web site.

How long has it been set up? I had this problem a few times when I set up networks at a new place, it takes a few hours before I could actually access anything online, even though it showed that the connection was there.

If all else fails, find the reset button on the back of the router and try that, if it isn't a brand new router it may need to be reset for some reason. Even if it is new, it can't hurt to reset it.

Ok, so I talked to him more about it.

Its something wrong with his computer. He had wireless set up at his house for the summer, and he was the only computer the couldn't connect to it. So, its not the internet itself, or the router, etc. Its a problem with his computer.

Either some settings, or like firewall, or wireless card...I don't know the answer.

And his computer isn't old. He got a new laptop, at the beginning of 2005.
