    Surround Sound Help

When I got a new computer a few months ago it came with the Soundblaster Audigy Advanced MB card and I got surround sound speakers. So far so good. Anyways I had the creeping suspicion that it wasnt working correctly but I couldnt be sure. Anyways the other day I was listening to my Ipod and the song "Hey Oh" by RHCP came on and one of my headphones fell out as it started. Because of this... I noticed that the electric guitar riff plays out of the right ear while the bass rff plays out of the left ear...like it should.

So I go home and test it out on the computer. Its a 5 speaker set up with front right, rear right, center, front left and rear left speakers. I turned the volume on the center and right speakers down leaving just the two left speakers on. I hear both the guitar and bass riff coming out. Try it with the other side...same thing. So the same sound is coming out of all speakers which I'm assuming its not supposed to because its supposed to be more "surround" liek it is with my Ipod headphones.

I've tried messing with all the settings and nothing changes it. Can this even be changed or am I stuck?

    Thanks fellas.

That sounds right to me (unless I am not reading it right). You should have the same sounds coming out of the left and right speakers (guitar/bass riff etc). The center channel should have most of the singing primarily coming out.

I mean I want it guitar coming out of left with bass coming out of right or vice versa like I heard on my Ipod.

That won't happen with surround sound. If you had the guitar coming from just one side it wouldn't be surround sound. The same sounds should be coming from the left and right speakers.

From the EAX console, turn off CMSS 3D. It takes a stereo signal and gives it a simulated surround effect which is probably the culprit.
