Despite being full of plot holes, I thought The Sentinel was a decent film.
The best part is the strong acting by Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland.
Sutherland’s character is like Jack Bauer except he never said DAMM IT or STAND DOWN.
I wonder why Eva Longoria even signed up for the film. She probably had less than 25 lines. Her character was pretty much useless.
Here are a few complaints I have. The motive for the assassination plot is never clearly explained. Why would the mole want to turn against the US President?
The bad guys try to frame Michael Douglas’s character but this doesn’t make much sense. He was already having an affair with the First Lady so that would automatically make him a suspect. And by framing him, the bad guys made it a higher possibility that he would be captured before the assassination went down. If he was in custody, than the government officials and police know he couldn’t have pulled the trigger.
