    Shaw screwing over its customers

I recieved a letter in the mail today that states TSN HD and Sportsnet HD won't be part of the basic HD package starting January 1st, 2007.

It's going to cost an extra $9 a month and they will also give you other HD channels like Discovery, A and E, and some other channels.

    : :

Considering TSN and Sportsnet shows NFL, NHL, MLB, NBA, and CFL games, sports fans are going to have to cave in.

I wish Rogers would come West so the consumers have another choice.

Come east? aren't you in BC?

This doesn't surprise me in the least as Rogers has a monopoly on the sports broadcasting scene in Canada. The HD channels are all on a higher tier here and have been for a while so it's nothing new.

Altho I will say with envy that I HATE SHAW! They have TCM (Turner Classic Movies) but Rogers keeps dragging their feet in the mud over putting it on their system. This is mainly because of TCM's basic cable status.

So at least you have one up over me.

      I meant West.

I just went to the Rogers website and I couldn't find all the HD channels you get over there.

The website does list Extra Innings,Centre Ice, and Raptors TV. Shaw doesn't have any of this.

        TSN
        SNET
        local (US) tv
        TMN (The Movie Network)

I could be leaving some things out but that's basically it. Still that's a lot of HD programming.
