Pluto is no longer a planet

It's official, just heard it on WCBS880.

    Kinda weird.

My childhood in shattered pieces now.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Haven't they recently discovered a new planet in the solar system somewhere? I thought I read that a month or two ago?

Now they're just exploring a non-planet. Whats so special about planets anyway?

Maybe Kevin Federline can help save Pluto, much like he did the penny.

                        uhh.. you live on one.

Is this all because they can't explore it so they are discounting it

                          No.

Much-maligned Pluto doesn't make the grade under the new rules for a planet: "a celestial body that is in orbit around the sun, has sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a ... nearly round shape, and has cleared the neighborhood around its orbit."

Pluto is automatically disqualified because its oblong orbit overlaps with Neptune's.

So they made "new rules" to discount it? Got it

hmm.. so Pluto is not a planet due to the fact it doesn't have nice "circle-shaped" orbit??
