    HDTVs: Service Plans

I'm looking to buy a new Samsung 56" DLP 1080P TV, do you guys think service plans are a good idea or bad idea for your HDTVs?

I would buy one, for lamps (one replacement covers the cost of the plan) as well as miscellaneous defects. Every technology has them, from every manufacturer, and you just might have an issue.

I've had green discoloration in the corners on a Pansonic CRT, geometry issues on an old Sony CRT, and on a Samsung DLP last year an HDMI input failed...service plans are a pretty good deal.

The salesman at CC said all I had to do was say I needed a new bulb and bring in the bulb and I would get a new one, so I will try that at the end of my plan.
