We can all recognize Tiger by his face, his black cap, his red collared T-shirt and his black dress pants. I guess that uniform he has for himself every final round helps him become 1 of the most recognizable athletes ever.

I don't really know how Shaq gets that much recognition, other than Shaq being a hell of a comedian for an NBA superstar and his appearances on MTV award shows, award shows in general.

Well, Shaq is physically imposing too, it's hard not to notice him.

      Here's one....how about Hulk Hogan?

Shaq also has movies, rap albums, and video games. Not to mention 4 championships.

My wife absolutely hates sports, so here are the names I came up with where she would recognize the person:

            M.J.
            Tiger
            Ali
            Dennis Rodman
            John McEnroe
            Hulk Hogan
            Mike Tyson

She has no clue who Shaq or Kobe are.

Currently Tiger Woods first, everyone else a distant second.

He's the closest thing I've seen to Michael Jordan since Michael Jordan in ANY sport.

You'd be surprised how little modern day athletes know about Jackie and his contributions. I'm not so sure if your average, everyday person would know much either but i'd wager to say we may know a little more then they.
