Re: Dish Network DVR
I have Driectv, but a if you are a new customer, you usually can get it free. If you are not new, then you can call them up and talk to them. Tell them that you would like to get a dvr, then wait for the price. Tell them no thanks if they want you to pay for it and that you would like to speak to their customer retention department. Then tell them you are thinking of dropping the dish and going with cable because you got an offer in the mail for a free dvr and whatever. They should give in and give it to you free, if not, keep talking or hang up and call back later.Comment

Re: Dish Network DVR
Has anyone dealt with using their own DVR alongside Time Warner Cable's service??? I am looking at this DVR as a possibility:

Also anyone split their signal so that they can utilize their PIP, splitting the analog signal from the wall and directing one to a modem, analog TV, and their HDBox ??Comment

Re: Dish Network DVR
Umm, Time Warner DVR's are dual-tuners by themselves. They have PIP built in.
I have the HD one, and I split the signal to my TV so I get all the HD chans(including a few not on their list) and run the other split to the box to get my ESPN HD and stuff.Comment
