Crank Movie

[WTF]

Don't know if you all are as big of fans of the Transporter series as I am, but seeing the previews for Crank, I was excited. Jason Statham is usually a stellar actor in these types of movies.

However, after seeing this movie last night, I can honestly say, stay away. It was by far, one of the worst movies I've seen lately. Any of you all see it? Thoughts?

Yeah, I was excited to see it because Statham is in it... I love the Transporter movies and I liked The Italian Job... is it really that bad... I was also looking forward to seeing Amy Smart.

I didn't like it at all. I mean, there were some good parts in it, but as a movie, as a whole, It was nowhere near the Transporter films. The action was pretty much nothing but shooting, etc. No fight sequences, etc. I was just really let down by the movie.

I can't really tell you anything without spoiling things... so I'll just leave it at that. It wasn't horrible... but it was nowhere near what I was expecting.

I liked it.

I thought it delivered exactly what it had promised, a (very) high-tempo movie full of action, though not necessarily of the fighting kind. I thought some of the angles were fairly unique in making the viewer feel like they are on some kind of adrenal high, as well. The pace rarely ever slowed down, because it was not supposed to given the plot. I felt on a small rush of my own leaving the theater.

The whole movie played out very much like a video game, and was supposed to, as pointed out by the opening credits and the scene after the end credits (yes, stay afterwards).

Four out of five stars from me.

I'm glad you liked it. I'll probably try it again when it comes out on DVD...but I left the theater feeling underwhelmed.

I really liked the film, but it wasn't up to par with the Transporter films; however it was still a good movie and wasn't even a waste of money.

Every move you've hated I have loved, so I'm expecting to like it

Plus, I know Jason Statham's stunt double in this movie.

Hopefully Amy Smart received a big payday for this film because I can't think of any other reason why she would agree to appear in this film.

Her two biggest scenes were getting nailed from behind in Chinatown and giving oral to her BF while they were in a car chase.

Every female character was pretty much a bimbo and nothing more than a sex object. It was pretty sexist.

While the movie was fast paced based on the premise, the action scenes were only so-so. Oh yeah Chester from Linkin Park has a cameo.

Late on this movie but watched it last night with the girl... what a piece of ****. This movie is just terrible and should not be seen by anyone.

What a stupid movie. Terrible directing, terrible casting (aside from Statham), terrible scene imagery, terrible use of language, nudity, and whatever else it was rated R for.

My mom happened to be walking in and out of the room a couple of times, and I agreed that the movie was just terrible. It didn't help that she walked in on one of the most disturbing, hilarious, yet worst scenes in the history of cinema.


This definitely wasn't high on testosterone, but it was high on something.

I did. I expected it to be much better, though. Believe me, the good scenes were decent (basically, anything with a car or bike was good, as well as the hospital scene). But anything with Jose Pablo Cantillo, Amy Smart, or the director's imagination was utter trash that wasn't necessary for the movie. I especially hate how dialogue is so messed up, it's like if these character's didn't say the F-word they wouldn't have any reason to speak for their sake.

What's worse is a sequel is coming out next year. The only way I would accept it is if they almost redid everything. A new director would be a good start. Google Earth scene transitions? Naked women getting shot in glass bubbles? I swear, this was probably one of the most sexist and racist movies I've ever seen, even if it wasn't trying to be.

There are so many different ways this movie could have gone. The beginning was a good start (minus Cantillo and the F-word every second)... great, actually. I think it really began to fall apart when the director(s) took the movie into their own hands, but self-destructed when Amy Smart came on screen. If they make a sequel, they have to know what worked and what didn't, and take out what didn't.
