    My thoughts exactly, jmood.

I've seen stories of it. I also know of people who were kicked off of sports teams and suspended because of it.

          Agreed.

          I don't believe it's true.

              Then it's internal.

I can see someone getting suspended from school/sports teams.

But, getting a ticket/violation/citation because of it. I doubt it.

That's basically saying that cops are going on facebook, checking out photos, finding who has been drinking, getting an address, going to someone's house, and handing out a ticket.

That just doesn't and can't happen.

more cases, most with links. Anything dealing with underage drinking goes beyond housing rules and has to involve campus police, whose tickets are as real as a city or county cop's are.

My RA said we can't be written up for anything on facebook, he just recommended we don't do it because he'll know people he has to look out for.

I know in high school some people got in trouble with the school for myspace pictures.

Personally, I just think the people who put up 30 pictures of them holding a beer to prove that they drink are pretty stupid.

Yeah, that happened last year at my HS. The supervision people set up myspaces so they could access the other pictures in the profile and not just the profile picture.

That's why almost everyone at my school has their profile set on private.

That is one view. Another view is that facebook is a social community and people like sharing pictures with each other. Sure, some people put up pictures with beer just to be cool, but I think many, many more people put up those pictures just so their friends(probably the ones drinking with them) can enjoy them. Not everything on facebook is about gaining cool points.

I think putting up pictures of yourself drinking is just a cry for attention and acceptance, especially if you're underage.... and especially if it's your profile picture.

Any pictures I take, I try to hide any alcoholic beverage I'm holding, even red Dixie cups with soda in it. If someone tags me with one, I untag it. I just can't stand people that do that kinda stuff on purpose.

I dont' see it as a cry for attention, just a picture of you having a good time. Just as CM stated, pictures are something to enjoy, if it just so happens to contain alcohol, then so be it.

                                Another example of internal involvement.

This I can see happening and obviously it has.
