This ticked me off so much I called Random House. This is another reason I loved the croc hunter so much. Unlike this twit he never thought he was god like being a celeberty. If you read the story look for her comments about the Lord of the Rings movies.

Re: Random House Author Slams Steve Irwin
Hm...
Steve Irwin was energetic and all but he didn't "jump all over crocodiles" as she says. Yeah he would hold them and wrestle with them but it's not like he's play wrestling them for cryin' out loud! I think he had a healthy respect for animals.
As for the comments on LOTR, this person waited til it became a big movie to make those complaints? The books have been around for YEARS and no one raised those concerns about it.

Re: Random House Author Slams Steve Irwin
"I am sick and tired of programs that tell me that the world is full of wicked, nasty, powerful, deadly creatures."
As far as "exploiting" animals, Steve Irwin exploited animals in the name of conservation to the tune of raising about a bazillion dollars for various wildlife sanctuaries and rescue operations such as Wildlife Warriors, International Croc Rescue, and so forth. I bet there's no shortage of animals that would like to have their causes "exploited" by a guy like Steve Irwin.
This woman is not only an attention-mongering bitch, she doesn't know what the hell she's talking about.Last edited by Skerik; 09-06-2006, 03:24 PM.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Re: Random House Author Slams Steve Irwin
I also have to ask this, for the most part I don't see these shows on wild animals as portraying them to be dangerous and evil animals. Am I alone in this?
Yes I know that there are some documentaries that make the point that wild animals can be dangerous but I never saw Steve Irwin or that Corwin guy denigrating them to the point that we'd revile said animals.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Random House Author Slams Steve Irwin
"He became famous for flirting with death as he wrestled crocodiles, swam with sharks and handled some of the world’s deadliest snakes and spiders."
90% of the time he wrestled them to take them to a new environment. just look at that youtube clip of him hugging a dead croc.
some could say the education route he chose was exploitative but I just dont see it that way. you cant compare this with circus "trainers"Last edited by RubenDouglas; 09-06-2006, 03:54 PM.Comment

If anyone's exploiting anything or anyone, it's this woman, who is using Irwin's death as a way to get herself publicity. I hope someone punches her right in the the kisser.Comment

Re: Random House Author Slams Steve Irwin
Another source tells me that she later added:
"I'm glad his two and eight year old children will be growing up fatherless, because I am a heartless bitch who is famous only for being proud I dont have a weiner."
But dont quote me on that, it was hard to hear the exact words. What is wrong with this woman? She is twisting a metaphorical knife into the open emotional wounds of Irwins family two days after a stingray stuck a real sharp object into his real heart. What, her lesbian rant couldnt have waited until they buried him? She's the kind of chick I used to push down on the asphalt in elementary school and ask "who's your daddy now," or the one that would get picked last for kickball, so she decided that, since she couldnt join the boys, she would forever exact her revenge on them through words and protests and daisies. I bet you that somewhere in that mindless rambling of hers, there was an Indigo Girls quote.
To revisit my original point, this woman was so caught up in hearing herself talk that she didnt stop to think that Irwin was instrumental in the capture and relocation of hundreds of crocodiles. Relocation. He was ensuring their safety. He did not hunt them. He despised poachers. He stomped through bushes thicker than this woman's leg hair to educate us about his passion. Not to hurt animals. This woman makes me sick...using this tragic accident to get her name/cause in front of people. She needs to go hang herself with her homemade hemp noose before I scissor kick her in the temple with my size twelves (made by indonesian children). and, yes, that was a joke - I really wear an 11.5. so, if anything happens to this woman, like a car bomb, perhaps, I had nothing to do with it. Nothing at all. I wasnt even in the country at the time.Comment
