'Til Death
Brad Garrett's (Robert from Everybody Loves Raymond) new comedy, 'Til Death, premeirs tonight. Just wondering who all is interested. I'm planning on watching it tonight after the NFL kickoff game. I think the show looks like it could be a pretty funny one. It's on at 7 central time on FOX. Anyone going to watch it?

Shoot! forgot it was on tonight. I'll watch it next week. One thing to note tho is that it's an Americanization of the britcom "Til Death Do us Part". Knowing the track record of Brit to American this show could easily bomb.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: 'Til Death
I saw the intro scene when the new neighbors move in.
The comedy seemed forced. I didn't find the characters appealing, either.
I don't think it'll last longer than two seasons, if even."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I watched the pregame yesterday rather than Till Death which I did want to see. Maybe they will replay it later or maybe I will forget and not care.Comment

Re: 'Til Death
I thought it was alright. It didn't start out too well for me, they were making jokes, but they weren't funny. Once the neighbors met and started talking it got funnier. It was funny how green and naive the newlywed husband was, and Brad Garrett's character explaining how marriage really works was pretty funny. I'm gonna watch it a few more weeks.
Now, I really liked the show that came on after it, Happy Hour. It had a lot more energy in its characters and some pretty funny stuff happened. Of the two shows, I thought Happy Hour was a lot better. It was basically this guy, Henry, gets dumped by his girlfriend, Heather, after moving to Chicago with her. So he finds another apartment (in the same building) and moves in with this guy, Larry, who just lost his roommate, Brad, to this really controlling girl, Tina, they are now engaged. They live in the same building too and are part of the show. The guy the main character moves in with is pretty funny and he wants to make Henry his "new Brad." There's also this other girl, Amanda, in the show, not sure if she lives in the building or not, that is friends with Larry and Brad, and now will become friends with Henry.
Happy Hour cast:
Anyway, I thought Happy Hour was pretty funny and the better of the two premeirs last night. I liked how all the characters seem to live in the same building together. It's called Happy Hour because at 4:00 each day, Larry has margarita's at his place and Amanda will come by and Brad tries to get away from his fiance to come. And now the new guy Henry is part of it too.Last edited by aukevin; 09-08-2006, 09:32 AM.

The Office has some funny spots but sometimes it is stale. Really depends on which episodes, the show is good when it is funny htough.Comment
