Just saw the preview for the first time....looks like a great movie IMO. It's based on a book which i have read and also loved. It's about the 6 flagraisers on Iwo Jima in world war 2.

I'm really looking forward to this. After quite a bit of stagnant selection there is going to be quite a few war movies and this looks like it will be very good, especially with Clint Eastwood and Spielberg onboard.

I had hear a couple months ago that Eastwood was going to be working on two war movies, but instead of them being two different wars, they're same; however, each movie from a different side of the war. Did anybody else hear this?

This movie comes out friday. I'm really looking forward to it, having just finished up the book. It's amazing what these Marines endured and sacrificed for their country. I hope the movie does them justice.Comment

The movie will have some battle scenes but the from all I've seen, the main element of the movie is how the government used those soldiers and the picture to support the war effort and how that affected the soldiers involved. I think the movie looks great and I hope I can catch it Saturday. The only negative things I have heard so far from the movie is from people that were expecting a movie like Saving Private Ryan, supposedly this isn't that type of movie.
