    death of a president?

This movie is beyond OVER the line.

    "Synopsis:

In October 2007, President of the United States George W. Bush is assassinated by a hidden shooter on his way out of a Chicago hotel, in front of which an anti-war rally is being held. A man of Syrian origins, Jamal Abu Zikri, becomes the number one suspect. Three years later, a documentary filmmaker presents a movie about what the United States has become since the assassination."

Heard about this on the news this morning. They said it would more than likely put the president in grave danger. People will get ideas and send out death threats.

Yea no doubt man. That was my first thought, along with cancelling any chicago hotel reservations in October.

Is the movie based on the book?

I don't recall Day of the Jackal putting Charles De Gaulle in any more danger then he already was. I watched an extensive report about this movie last week and it's VERY interesting. I can see why it will offend American viewers and hence it probably will never be shown in America because of that.

It's an examination and extrapolation of what the current US foreign policy can lead to and in that way it's quite a valid theory. Yes I know it's very unsettling to see the current president being shot on film as if it truly happened but sometimes shock is needed to make people look inward. I hope to one day see the film as I believe (and hope) it's not just some left wing, anti-Bush film but rather a deep and critical look at what current policies can lead to.

Since that's pretty political if you have questions for me on the topic don't hesitate to PM me. My PM box is open to anyone.

This kind of thread can't happen on OS, I'm sure you understand why.
