Imma pick up the retail version as well. He's already stated that most of the songs off the leaked copy made it to this newer version. Thats good because I loved the leaked version. Anyway, his release should make my life a living hell as I've been told way to many times that I look like that sombitch. At least 4 times a week.

        Re: Food and Liquor

I'm glad because after reading this, I seriously thought that we'd never get the retail. Looking at the tracklist I'm upset that "No Place To Go" from the original leak isn't on there, unless it was given a new name like "Never Lies/The Instrumental"

“Hey **** happens. An unmixed version of Food & Liquor got leaked yesterday,” Lupe said. “It’s stuff like this that makes you wanna just be like, **** it.”

Lupe has been working on his would-be debut for about five years, and after seeing the release date get pushed back several times, and now having it leaked on to the internet months before its summer release, the 23-year-old rapper expressed his frustration.

“Lotta time and money and bull**** went into creating that album. Over the years I’ve had my people die, get locked up, my company get shut down, weak *** niggas in my own crew turn against me and just when things are starting to look good… [and] later learn that everything I worked for just got leaked all over the internet kinda had me ****ed up.”

The Atlantic recording artist also said the album may be permanently shelved, and chocked it up as an impromptu episode in his ‘Fahrenheit 1/15th' mixtape series -- minus appearances from Jay-Z, Pharrell, Jill Scott, 3-6 Mafia and others who were expected to make the final version.

“Everything happens for a reason, and God wills what He wills when He wills, so I gotta take this one and keep it moving. I’m going to take some time out and refocus on some other things for a minute, maybe my sneaker and toy stuff. Eventually, God willing, get back in the studio and get back to work.”

“I hope it doesn’t hit the streets as a bootleg, but I got this real deep feeling that it will, so I’m writing off Food & Liquor as you know it or may have heard it, and starting over. Thanks for the support and the love. Stay tuned. FNF Up!”

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Got it last night, listened to it on the train goin to school today.

                          It's simply amazing.

                          MUCH better than the original.

I think Lupe got all of my favorites from the original (I'm real glad "no place to go" made it, under the name "hurt me soul"), and the new songs he added like "the cool", "he say, she say", "kick push II", "emperor's soundtrack", and a fire verse from Jay put this over the top. I know most people are in love with the original, I was too, but this album is much more complete, flows better, and has better songs.

Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor and Justin Timberlake's Futursex/Lovesounds are by far the best album's of this year (flame suit activated).

Haven't heard the latest Lupe, but you're on point about the Justin Timberlake joint. Right now for me, the best albums of 2006 are:

                            Justin Timberlake - Futuresex/Lovesounds
                            John Mayer - Continuum
                            Nelly Furtado - Loose

That's possibly the weirdest collection of music ever.
