Mere will most likely survive, but they did a good job maintaining the tension. There's still that sliver of doubt, since this is an ensemble show. Another great episode.

I for one don't want George and Izzie to hook up. I liked Izzie last night but she's been a jerk to Callie and I'm not a huge fan of hers. She of all people shouldn't be handing out dating advice. She totally fell for a guy who never even left a hospital bed. They never even went on a date and she was a basket case for weeks yet feels its completely fine to trounce George and Callie's feelings. She bashes Callie every chance she gets so it wasn't really out of left field - maybe deep short.

Last night was great though. The show just seemed to fly by.

I think she'll live as well, although someone in her condition would have SEVERE problems after coming back alive with the brain not having any oxygen for what seemed like over an hour.

She fell in at 9:00 and Derek rescued her at 9:30. I'm not sure what the real time was on that - they may even say its less than 1/2 an hour. She will be helped though by the fact the water was cold. She would be a lot worse off if she had drowned in warm water.

"Submersion accidents which lead to unconsciousness in waters colder than 70 degrees F occur with regularity. Oxygen needs are much reduced when the body is cold, therefore a permanent brain damage from low oxygen states may not occur. A 60 minute cold water submersion victim has been fully resuscitated. Similar to the hypothermic victims above these nearly drowned individuals appear cold to touch, blue, with no respiration or evident circulation and their pupils are fixed and dilated." - http://scuba-doc.com/hypoth.htm

yeah but at the end she flatlined. Wouldn't that cut the oxygen to her brain and ****** her in some way? I thought it would have had to.

I've soured on Izzy. I used to like her before, then I watched Seasons 1 & 2. The fact that she gets so personally involved with her patients annoys the hell out of me. I could understand some patients, but every single one?

I've never been an Izzy fan. I only started watching the show about halfway through the second season and I would probably be more annoyed with her if I watched all of the beginning episodes.

Yeah, never really been a huge fan of Izzie. It became worse when she fell for Denny.

I don't know about you guys but Karev has been my favorite intern since the beginning of the show. My favorite character, however, is Derek. Izzie is definitely on the bottom of my list. I have always found her annoying and defensive.

I've really grown to like Alex too. Almost all of the characters are very likeable for me to different degrees. I really don't hate any of them as they all have their moments.

Izzie and the Callie hate just needs to stop. That's just getting annoying.

And, I've never have wanted to punch a little girl in the face as much I did when I saw the most recent episode.

                                I saw this on IMdb.com:
                                'Grey's Anatomy' To Get Spin-Off
The ABC network is planning a spin-off of its hit medical series Grey's Anatomy, featuring the character of Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd, played by Kate Walsh. The show's creator, Shonda Rhimes, is preparing a two-hour episode Grey's Anatomy, set to air in May, that would serve as the pilot episode for the proposed spin-off. If the network approves, the show will be considered for spot on the schedule next autumn. An ABC spokeswoman confirmed the plans, but said the plot line for the spin-off was being kept under wraps and no title has been selected. Grey's Anatomy has remained hugely popular in the US ratings since its premiere in April 2005.
