My mom just started making cremed spinach a few months ago since I hate pretty much all the other green alternatives minus salad. Awesome...haven't had it in a few weeks though.

can it spread to other vegetables while on the shelf?

I know the Cheesecake Factory that I just went to said they had to send back/throw out all of their spinach...so I'd say yes.

I was actually eating Spinach salad with chicken when this story broke on the news. Then today i found out that the brand i was eating was the brand that has been recalled and investigated. . But I am not sick nor is anyone else that ate it so.....

I work for an Applebees franchisee in their IT department and we had all of our stores/restaurants throw out the spinach. You have no idea how much trouble something like this causes in the restaurant industry. I've gotten a totally different point of view on things compared to just being a regular consumer like most of you. It was a busy, busy Friday for us.

I'm shocked at how many of you don't eat spinach. We go through a few bags\week. It's very good for you.
