    The Last Kiss

I was going to post this on Friday, but seeing Kimmel reminded me just now. Do not, I repeat, do not see this movie in the theatres. This is the movie with Zach Braff (Sp?) the dude from Garden State and Marissa's friend, the brunette, on the O.C. I doubt that many of you would actually venture to see this in the first place (kind of a girly movie) but I thought I may as well give a heads up.

Poorly written, weak characters, weak plot, trying too hard to be funny.. just a piss-poor film. Very dissappointing.

      Re: The Last Kiss

That's surprising.. I was just really underwhelmed! Like with the little sub-plots with the main characters friends.. those could have been developed a bit more.. as far as the characters.. the girl from the O.C.. wtf was her deal.

Zach didn't direct this film like he did Garden State, so that I guess is part of the reason I didn't enjoy it.. just had too high expectations coming in trying to compare it to Garden State. Glad you liked it though, it sucks spending money on a two hour film you felt underacheived.

I did feel that it underacheived but on the same note I was expecting Garden State because I knew Braff didn't direct or write it. Yeah Rachel Bilson's character was kind of just there....seemed like somthing more would develope out of her character but she is so HOTT. In the end I still liked it I am a big fan of Braff thoe.

Garden State is probally one of my top 3 all time favorite movies.

I liked Garden State and my wife likes Summer from The OC (and she pretty much is the funniest character on that show), so I imagine I'll be seeing this sometime. Probably on DVD though.

I've heard Garden State was much better, so I stayed away, I will probably rent it at some point.

As I was watching this film, I was telling myself how this movie needed a Coldplay song. And then with under 10 minutes remaining, Warning Sign comes on.

I know people will compare this film to Garden State even though Braff didn't write or direct this film. The Last Kiss is a solid film but not as good as Garden State.

The strong performances by Braff and Barrett made Bilson look like a terrible actress.

The DVD has 2 audio commentaries and a couple other extra features. I'll check these out down the road.

                Final Grade: B

i gotta go with ex here... this movie was complete trash. trying hard to be smart and witty with its commentary on life, love, and maturing... failed on every aspect.

I'm gonna bump this, because I bought the dvd this weekend and I loved the movie. The last ten minutes of the movie are emotional and this movie can easily be related to real life.

I just saw this for the first time today, and I must say I was very impressed. Just an overall interesting and moving experience.

I have to agree with this. Both Zach and Jacinda did excellent jobs with this film. I hadn't really heard of Jacinda Barret prior to this movie, but she absolutely nailed her role. I've been a big fan of Zach's since I started watching Scrubs, but this movie(along with Garden State) gave me a whole new view of, and respect for him. He really is starting to become one of my favorites.

I have the Braff version on DVR recorded from HBO over the weekend. I'm interested to see how this version compares to the Original (L'Ultimo Baccio). I enjoyed the Italian version, hopefully Braff did a good job remaking the film.
