    Kidnapped

Surprised no one has posted about this show. It's about a rich kid who gets kidnapped. Their parents (father Timothy Hutton) hire a guy who specializes in retrieving kidnap victims, only collecting his money if the subject is brought back alive. The entire season will deal with this kidnapping, and judging by the previews for next week, a lot more. Definitely check this one out, and read this if you have time. http://tinyurl.com/gkl6o

I watched it, it should have been called "Ransom", since Delroy Lindo plays his exact same part.

I am a Jeremy Sisto fan, so he was the main reason I watched it. I liked his character, and this could be a good show. Not sure how long you can drag it out, but it seems to be deeper than just the kidnapping.

argh, I wanted to watch this. I didn't realize it was on at 10.

I watch CSI: NY Wednesday's at 10. So, I guess Kidnapped is out of the question.

I thought the pilot started off really well, looks like it's going to be a good show (at least for the first season).

I'm not interested in a t.v. show that seems to have the plot of a movie. Rich person kidnapped, expert hired to try to bring them back.

I hardly feel sympathy for a rich kid too.

So if a kid's born in a rich family, he deserves to have bad stuff happen to him? If so, I can only at you.

I guess you're not a fan of shows like 24 or Prison Break either judging by your distaste for shows having movie plots.

There are going to be numerous sub plots in this one, so you won't be bored. NBC. com offers a full replay of this opening episode.

Much like reality shows and crime shows, I'm sure by next year this phase will die down when writers try too hard to be like everything else on tv and watch their shows fail.

That being said, the original ones are the best. 24, Lost, Prison Break. Those are the ones that'll stand, 24 already has; Lost on the way, the test of time.

I enjoyed the first episode... but not sure how long they can make it interesting. So far, so good though.

I liked the first episode. I'm trying to find a couple of new shows to get into and so far this one's up there.

                      I liked...
                      ..Kidnapped
                      ..Heroes
                      ..Friday Night Lights

                      not sure about...
                      ..Jericho
                      ..Justice
                      ..Vanished

Still to watch (on my DVR)...
                      ..Studio 60
                      ..Shark

Show seems to be struggling in the ratings . I really like this show, and I hope they at least finish out this story arc properly. Aintitcoolnews is reporting though that only the first 13 eps will air, and the show will shut down production for a while, if not for good.

From an article relating to SMITH being cancelled..

Meanwhile, NBC announced the sort-of cancellation of its Wednesday night serial comedy "Kidnapped," which stars Jeremy Sisto. NBC gambled by putting the show in the time slot held for a long time by "Law & Order," and it failed miserably.

"Kidnapped" will be moved to the television purgatory of Saturday nights, starting October 21. Its producers have been told to wrap up the serialized drama's story lines by the end of the show's 13-episode order, NBC said.

Networks have been wrestling with how to satisfy fans who've gotten involved in serialized dramas when the ratings are poor enough for the show to be canceled.
