I just installed Norton 2006 and now my Xbox live won't connect, anyone know why.. I had Mcafe installed before and I had no isuess.

Are you using wirelss connection?

Your new Norton software might be blocking ports by default. Check the firewall and what not. Don't remember how Norton works but see if it is blocking any devices connecting to your machine/connection.

I concur. I downloaded the full version for free through my company and I promptly uninstalled it. It's nothing but a resource hog. I agree, install the free version of AVG anti virus.

I did, but does this free version run out? and if not wdoes it protect good?

NOD32 is good as well. Personally I liked it better than Avast.

Paying for virus protection? I've used Avast for 3 years, never had a single issue.

I'm pretty sure Avast has spyware protection. Firefox with the adblock code is plenty in terms of ad/pop-up blocker.

I never paid for any of my anti virus programs, let just leave it at that My freind gave me the copy of Norton on friday at work.

everything i use on my computer is free

firewall? Zone Alarm

antivir - AVG

antispyware? - spybot & ad-aware


the difference is that it may not come with all the bells & whistles as the pay verisons, & that updates may not be always right away (AVG does a pretty good job at updating the program)..

You need to uninstall it and install AVG as has been said, this has nothing to do with paying for virus protection or not, the simple fact is that Norton has been 0wned so many times it's scary whereas AVG has not....
