One of the greatest hard rock/heavy metal bands ever. Love them.
How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year. Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.

One of the beauties of AC/DC is that the Scott vs. Johnson argument is valid. How many other bands that have a lead singer with a unique voice and style were able to replace him with a singer with a similar voice and style, and actually pull it off?

Practically none. And don't even say Van Halen for a second, because Hagar turned that band into a complete p*ssy rock outfit, with ballads out the wazoo.

The fact that AC/DC pulled it off with Johnson and stayed true to its musical roots is another credit to one of rock's most enduring, consistent and amazing bands.

      Take care,

I agree PK. Even though I like Van with Sammy. They become mostly ballads. I like Johnson a lot. But to me Bon is the best. I can listen to his songs all day lol.

My first gut-laugh of the day! Cherone made Hagar look and sound like the bastard offspring of Robert Plant and Ian Gillan.

Why Van Halen ever selected Cherone was beyond me. He SUCKED like a Hoover with Xtreme and was horrid during his brief, but-too-long tenure with VH.

VH had jumped the shark by the time Cherone joined the band. But the first time I heard Cherone's ridiculously overproduced vocals on his first tracks with VH, I realized that not only had VH jumped the shark, but the shark had devoured VH.

although this may sound a little "girly-like", there is another band that has been able to replace a lead singer that had a unique voice - Journey..

love AC/DC though, & that there is something to be said that each time I leave for work, "Highway to Hell" is being played...

Wow, Ian Gillan there is a blast from the past. That guy had a great voice too. Cherone suck even in his other band. Journey is not the same without Perry, but that is just my opinion. Perry has one of the most powerful voice I have ever heard. Plants was freaking awesome too lol.

PK, I started thinking which always dangerous. But Sammy had some rock songs when he was solo. I think it was Eddie that wanted all those power ballads songs. Van Halen has always been Eddies band. That is why David got the boot. lol Also, so who do you like better Bon or Johnson? I like Johnson, but I would have loved to hear what it sound like with Bon singing the songs Johnson does.

I went and saw Journey and Def Leppard about a month ago. Journey was really good and the singer sounded just like Steve Perry. Def Lappard also put on a good show. I am used to seeing bands like Slayer in concert but my wife wanted to go. As for Bon Scott, he is my favorite front man of all time. If you have not picked up Family Jewls on DVD, do so ASAP!

I agree, the guy is good, but he is no Perry, at least to me. Also Bon is my favorite too. There was just something about him. And to think he was the bands bus driver, before he was the lead singer lol. Good mvre Malcolm. And other thing that is a trip was A. Young was only 14 when they started. Damn that kid had some talent lol.

But that was the smartest move by the Brothers. Bon gave them that extra edge. I love hearing that story.

Yeah. It's a shame he died so young. But with the lifestyle he lived, it was bound to happen.
