The satellite folks went to a friend of mine's house and said a tree was in the way. He asked them which one it was, they pointed it out, and he cut it down with a chainsaw while they were standing there.

We had the same problem. 90 ft. tall trees. Dish Network told us they couldn't install the dish, so we bought a 20 ft pole, put it on our roof with the satellite on top, and we positioned it ourselves. The dish companies just can't get creative like that, it's against the rules.

lol i hope that pole is layed in cement foundation... and very ery strong.

I had same prob for my HDTV....basic satellite no problem on my house...but HDTV got put in last friday...he put the dish in my back yard some 150 feet from house cuz he said HDTV comes in at a diff angle or something...And i have trees everywhere,signal strength is at 91...so now we have 2 dishes cuz i did not want to trench in 4 lines on the new dish,but dont ever let them tell you too many trees.....I have friends who have them and they live in apartments....

I got a retailer to come out and he found the signal easily. 115 strength on the 110 and 119 sats and 75 on the 129 (HDTV) one.

It took them forever to get it to work at my parent's house. They finally put it on top of our shed in the back of the backyard, about 90 feet from the house, and ran cables underground back to the house. Whatta a mess.
